‘Dwelling in the Word’

Dwelling in the Word – Matthew 5:1-10.

You are blessed when you know you are empty without God.–Then you can know you are a member of His family.

You are blessed when you are sad for things that have changed or gone.–Then you are held by God.

You are blessed when you let go of your own importance.–Then you have all there is to have.

You are blessed when you are desperate to see the rightness of God’s Kingdom come, just like when you are hungry and thirsty before teatime.–Then you’ll see the kingdom and it will be like a party feast.

You are blessed when you are deeply kind and compassionate–Kindness and compassion will also come to you.

You are blessed when you are right with God in your inside you – your heart, mind and soul, then you will see God all around you.

You are blessed when you work to bring peace in the middle of trouble and fighting and fear.–Then you are living as a child in God’s family.

You are blessed when people hate you or laugh at you because you are a member of God’s family. — Then you are held even more tightly by God and can be certain of your place in His Family’.

A Prayer for the Diocese

God of gentleness and love Draw near to us as we draw near to you.  Dwell in every heart and conversation.  Fashion in us the likeness of you Son, Jesus Christ.  Help us to discern together all that you are calling us to be and all that you are calling us to do.  Assist us, by your Spirit, to become a more contemplative, more compassionate and more courageous Church For the building of your kingdom and the glory of your Son.   Amen.
